The Argonia Airport is open and maintained by the City.  The current runway is a grass runway.  When needed, the airport allows EagleMed and LifeTeam emergency medical helicopters to land and pick up patients.  Fore more information regarding our airport please contact the City of Argonia at 620-435-6553.

Argonia Community Center

The Community Center in Argonia provides space for many social activities. The building is home to the Lion's Club annual Santa Day, the Christmas Tree Lighting Service, and the Chamber of Commerce's Farm and Art Markets.

For more information on how to rent the community center, contact Tara Pierce at (620) 435-6553. We charge $150 per day for rent with $50 refundable deposit.

Directions: From US HWY 160, turn south at Main Street five blocks and then, turn west at Walnut one block.

Avenue of Flags

Every Memorial Day, over 150 flags are raised at the Argonia Cemetery in memory of the many Argonians who have served in the US armed forces. The Avenue of Flags is sponsored by the local VFW and auxiliary. It is located just east of town on US HWY 160.

Dixon Township Library

Argonia's Dixon Township Library, located just west of Main Street at 120 W. Walnut, offers an excellent selection of non-fiction and fiction books, year-round reading programs, and story time for children. Books that are not available in the library's own collection can be procured through the Kansas state inter-library loan program. A public access computer with a high-speed Internet connection is available for online research and other needs.

Floyd Memorial Chapel

The Floyd Memorial Chapel, located on the west edge of Argonia's cemetery, provides space for families to grieve and for small services. Public restrooms are available inside.

Marty Harrison Field

The field is home to all of Argonia's little league games, and softball tournaments. Contact the Parks and Recreation Commission for more information.  Their phone number is 620-435-6311.

Memorial Walkway

The Memorial Walkway provides a safe place for visitors and residents of Argonia to walk, bike, or run in a beautiful outdoor setting. At the sound end of the walkway is Argonia's River Park along the Chikaskia River. 

River Park

Argonia's scenic river park overlooking the Chikaskia River provides RV hookups, tent camping sites, picnic grounds, a bathhouse, and fishing access on the river. The park has picnic shelter houses, deck, picnic tables, a half-a-mile walking trail (part of the Memorial Walkway), public fishing access, and free WiFi.

Rodeo Grounds

The Rodeo Grounds are located near Argonia's scenic river park overlooking the Chikaskia River, where events are held at different times of the year. Please contact Tara Pierce for information.

Salter Park

Salter Park provides a great place for children to play and adults to relax. A picnic shelter and several benches dot the grassy city block. A tennis court with basketball goals on the sides fills the northeast corner of the park.

Directions: From US HWY 160 turn south on Pine Street (at the high school) and travel five blocks south.

Salter Museum

Located on the corner of Osage and Garfield in Argonia, the Salter House is open to the public by appointment. Contact Scott Figg at 620-435-6806 or Carol Pearce at (620) 435-6564 to make arrangements. 

Argonia Swimming Pool 

On the southeast corner of the Salter Park is the city's swimming pool. The pool offers a wide variety of activities; swim team, water aerobics, lap swimming, pool parties, and swim lessons. Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, it is complete with dual water slides and a diving board.

Periodic midnight swims provide an opportunity for fellowship for young and old alike. Pool passes for singles up to families of 6 or more are available. Call (620) 435-6520 for more information.
